"KislapMata" is a play on the Filipino words kislap (sparkle), mata (eye), and kisap-mata (blink of an eye). The term denotes our sparkling eyes when we are happy.

"KislapMata" are those fleeting moments that bring about "a sip of joy" in the midst of uncertainties - the subtleties of living in this pandemic.

Karilyo’s piece for Pesta Boneka #7 is a collection of six shadowplay sketches that represents what each member thinks and feels about their sources of happiness during these terribly trying times. Restriction in community activities in the Philippines started on March 16, 2020. Most people have found it difficult to cope with these sudden changes. Self-isolation has prompted Karilyo to work on whatever resources they have at home and create simple shadowplays by themselves. This performance is a reminder that creating works under such conditions is indeed challenging. Yet, working collectively, albeit from different locations, has made everything possible.
