Theater Djempol (ND) is a puppet theater group consisting of Dominique and Wouter, two Dutch nationals with Indonesian roots. Their journey in tracing their past has led them to Dominique's grandfather who was imprisoned by the Japanese in Indonesia during World Word II.
Their family history plays a great influence not only on their lives but on their work ever since.

Wayang Suket Indonesia was founded by a group of young people coming from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. Based in Solo, Wayang Suket Indonesia intends to revive the culture of storytelling through puppets (wayang) made of straws (suket) that have been abandoned by the Javanese community.

The duo will share their experiences and exchange ideas on how identity became the starting point of their work.
