tacet

adjective: tacet
1. performed with the voice or instrument silent.

Latin, literally 'is silent’, from tacere 'be silent’.

It is a musical term to indicate that an instrument or voice does not sound in a composition.

In vocal polyphony and in orchestral scores, it usually indicates a long period of time, typically an entire movement.

An out-of-work cello repeats the same boring routine every single day, just waiting for the chance to perform onstage again. Uninspired and lost, she tries to break out of her rut and ventures outside the house.

What will she see on her walk? Will she be able to find joy in music again?
