Summer 2020 / France : Vaulx-en-Velin to Avignon by bicycle / 333 kms

Alceste is an old puppet that loves to travel and meet people. This summer, we took him on a bicycle trip from Vaulx-en-Velin to Avignon in France. The artistique idea was to show the power of puppets in a real environment.

We filmed our encounters and made a video to share with you these moments. In this work, people have agreed to exchange something that has become a part of their lives.

The life of Alceste is a performance of a human-size puppet produced by Company El Caracol (FR) and La Breche (BG).



Artist Profile

Celine Pagniez is an actress and puppeteer. She made Alceste with Natacha Belova during a puppet-making workshop. She created the company El Caracol in 2013 and decided to make her own creation.
She loves combining disciplines and discovering new horizons.
