Onna Musha tells of the past and the future of a mysterious, ancient woman whose life can be peeked at through the amalgamation of puppetry, butoh dance, and mask work.

Artist Profile

Matt Jackson Studios fabricates puppets and masks for theatre and film. In collaboration with Kristien Sonnevijlle, we create site-specific performances and installations that bring the sculptures to life: an organic mixture of puppetry, dance, and mask play rooted in the transformation of material and body.
