Dreams and A Heart
Description

Target Audience: The process is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Simple figures made from donated pillows, each doll is filled with dreams and given a heart. Once the doll is complete, each maker has the opportunity to take part in a short, gently guided meditation, feeling their own pulse while connecting with their doll. This process gives us the courage to connect with our essential humanity and global connection. Ultimately it can lead us to a more peaceful and just world.

Dolls created over the workshop can be displayed on the day so participants can enjoy having contributed to the artwork. Over several years we have built up a collection of around 3.000 dolls. You are invited to help us create the next ones.

Dreams and a Heart is a long-running participatory artwork for peace. Regina woke up at the beginning of 2011 with the idea of making one doll for each one of us on Earth, and she has been making them regularly with others for over 10 years.

Regina has been running free doll-making workshops since 2013 mainly in England. Dreams and a Heart workshops have taken place also in Lisbon, Reykjavik, São Paulo, Stockholm, Black Forest, Paros and Edinburgh. In 2018 we made our first installation exhibiting the first 700 dolls at Omnibus Theatre alongside a month-long workshop residency.
