Synopsis

A sci-fi performance blending ancient traditions from diverse cultures. It unveils a dystopian future through staged archaeological finds, where cyborgs adopt and distort rituals of a vanished humanity. Drawing from cyberpunk, video games, and comic aesthetics, the show combines multimedia elements, ancient artefacts, and live action. The scenography features micro-spaces as movie sets, with real-time creation visible to the audience. Techniques include live camera, LED lighting, shadow play, video-mapping, and dynamic objects.

Artist Profile

Karla Kracht, a multidisciplinary artist based in Barcelona since 2004, integrates video art, illustration, animation, sculpture, electronics and performance in her creative practice. She studied in Germany, the UK, and Spain. Her award-winning work has been shown in festivals, galleries, museums, theaters and art centers around the world.

She conducts workshops and lectures on her artistic methodology and creative processes at universities, festivals, and art spaces, including the National University of Singapore, National Taiwan University of Arts, and Colorado State University.

She choreographs and automates her performances and installations using Isadora software. Collaborating with electrical engineers and musicians, she uses her knowledge of electronics, Arduino, soldering, LEDs, and DC motor control to bring her projects to life.
