Synopsis

In an abandoned kitchen, a young child is tasked with cleaning up years of neglect. Armed with only a feather duster, the child brings the room back to life. Through a blend of pantomime and object theatre, the feather duster becomes more than a cleaning tool—it transforms into a companion, a storyteller, and a spark for the child's imagination.

With each sweep, the dusty kitchen reveals hidden memories and forgotten moments. Movement and silence guide this enchanting performance, where a simple task becomes an adventure of discovery.

Artist Profile

Abdul Khafizd is a performing artist in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan. His ideas have made it into several performing arts spaces and festivals in Indonesia such as the Djarum Foundation's Bhakti Budaya Creative Space, Cirebon 3 Theater Festival, Gulali Festival, and Helateater.

Besides being active in the performing arts, Abdul Khafizd also initiated several festivals in Central Kalimantan in collaboration with various parties, such as the Indonesia Street Mime International Festival (ISMIF), the Borneo Orangutan Festival (FOB) and activated public spaces into discussion spaces related to performing arts with environmental issues.

In 2013, Abdul Khafizd formed a performing arts group that is now called Borneo Art Play (BAP). Many of the works produced raise environmental conditions in Central Kalimantan in collaboration with traditional and interdisciplinary artists. In 2024, Abdul Khafizd and BAP are focusing on building and running programs around Central Kalimantan to provide access to performing arts to children and communities in the region
