Artist Profile

Compagnie Succursale 101 was founded in 2006 by Angélique Friant, an actress and puppeteer trained at the Comédie de Reims. Dramaturgy, the backbone of performing arts, immediately emerged as the driving force behind the company’s work. Around this core focus, any material necessary for the performance can be brought into the creation process, with no concern for theatrical conventions—except those dictated by the initial intention. In this spirit, since its founding, the company has explored the various disciplines of the contemporary stage, blending with great care and a strong sense of dramaturgy, artistic forms such as theatre, dance, mask, music, puppetry, and object theatre.
